Faith Life

At Saint Mary School, we celebrate our faith.  We encourage children to develop a personal relationship with God and expose them to the teachings of the Catholic Church.  We begin and end each day with a prayer. Throughout the year, our students celebrate First Friday and Holy Day Masses, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and have opportunities to visit the Adoration Chapel.  At SMS, Religion is not only a subject taught daily, but it is woven into our identity as a Catholic school.

Community Service

Our faith-based approach to education leads us to teach our students that they are called to spread God's love through service to others.  By introducing students to the joy of service to others, the concepts of caring, helping and sharing are extended beyond their classmates, families and friends.  Students realize that there are many people in their community and around the world, including other children, whom they may not know personally but who need their help.  Whether they are collecing toothbrushes for Honduras, canned food for our sister parish in Bridgeport, singing Christmas carols at a local nursing home, decorating lunch bags for Meals on Wheels, or helping sort gifts for the Parish Giving Tree, SMS students embrace their mission of service.
