Dear Prospective Parents,
Welcome to our Saint Mary School community, where our students’ mission can be summed up by the sentiment, “Work Hard, Be Kind, and Smile.”
My name is Anna O’Rourke and I am blessed to be the principal of SMS. The 2020-2021 school year begins my 11th year as principal and my 25th year as an educator in this building. One can say that this is my “home away from home!” Prior to my current role, my journey has taken me from Preschool to Grade 3 to Kindergarten. My experience as an educator has been instrumental in my role as principal.
It has been a joy to have been a part of SMS since its re-opening in 1996. Watching this school grow and flourish due to the faith and resilience of a small group of founding families and a pastor that had a vision has been remarkable. From the inception of the reopening, our goal always has been to provide an exceptional education for students in Preschool through Grade 8. However, just as important to my staff and me is fostering the goodness and innate kindness and compassion in our students. Our students are: lifelong learners, people of faith, leaders, team players and most importantly a permanent part of the SMS family. We attribute much of this to our Catholic faith, which makes this a natural fulfillment. Educating the whole child is something that we have been doing long before it became popular.
In a world where interpersonal interactions have been interrupted, we embrace and thrive on our connections to our students, parents, faculty, staff and the greater community. Come by for a tour and meet us. Stay and become a member of our Community of Faith - Learning for Life!
Blessings and peace,
