Discovery Day

Families are notified about Open House dates, and the Grade 8 students are invited to visit Immaculate High School in Danbury for its Discovery Day in the fall. This event takes place during the school day. Immaculate High School provides transportation and lunch. Saint Mary School faculty accompany our students on the trip.  We encourage students to go, even if they are not planning on applying to Immaculate, as it is helpful for them to experience a high school setting with their peers with whom they feel comfortable.

Shadow Days

Our 7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to shadow at various area high schools, and are often matched up with a Saint Mary alum for the visit. This is an important step as nothing can quite duplicate the experience of spending an actual day at a school a student is considering.

At Saint Mary School you can be assured that we will do all we can to help families with this important transition.
