Science

Each grade in middle school begins the first quarter by reviewing the names and functions of commonly used scientific tools and the steps of scientific method: ask a question, form a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, gather and analyze data, and write a conclusion. We discuss why each part of the scientific method is important and how they relate to one another. The students have opportunities throughout the year to practice their skills by conducting experiments using the process and the tools, writing formal and informal lab reports, as well as completing an independent STEM project which they present to the greater community at our annual STEM fair.
