We Have a Deep Sense of Community
Parents play an important role in the success of our school, and as a result, forge strong relationships with other SMS families.
- All parents are members of our Home School Association (HSA). Parents serve on the HSA Board as well as the School Advisory Board.
- Our parents volunteer throughout the year, as library assistants, open house guides, reading group leaders, class parents, field trip chaperones, and mystery readers, and assistant coaches.
- The HSA sponsors events which foster a strong bond between families, such as Back to School Coffee, Moms’ and Dads’ Nights Out, Father Daughter Dance, Mother Son Bowling, Golf Outing, Wine Dinners, and End of the Year Socials. These relationships last well beyond the grade school years.
- We welcome the entire family, from youngest siblings to grandparents, to participate in school programs and activities.
